The Secret Shortcut To Culinary Success
Imagine being such a great chef that people may consider paying hundreds just to eat one course of your food. This is what happens to a select amount of chefs in their restaurants, where the culinary concepts that they have created generates this type of acclaim.
For the rest of us mere mortals dining is a pleasure also, as is cooking for those of us who enjoy it when we have the time. Many people prefer to work strictly according to recipes created by others whereas others love the idea of creating something unique in terms of culinary concepts.
So how is it possible to make a success of this in your own home? One very central issue is having a good palate so that one can discern and even imagine how certain taste combinations could work (or not) together. Additionally having a feel for the energy of food adds another layer to potential success in this area.
Of course it also makes sense to model renowned chefs who have trained and been working for years. Currently the world’s top restaurant is located in Denmark and the owner chef of this restaurant only works with local ingredients. He and his team wander around in the local nature finding ingredients later to be served in delicious dishes. This is one important tip, to connect with local produce and work with seasonal ingredients.
On top of this it is a wonderful experience to listen to your inner voice about food and ingredients. On a subconscious level we often know what would be good for ourselves and our families. When we practice tuning into this we will find the best ingredients for the creation we wish to make at that time. When we cook intuitively we can produce great dishes.
This is a practice that can take time to learn but it can bring some excellent results. The reason it works is that only 12 per cent of our mind is conscious whereas the remaining 88% is subconscious. In our subconscious we hold our more primitive instincts, of which survival is central. To survive we need to eat food and to be healthier we need to eat food that varied and offers us a complex range of nutrition. So ask your subconscious before you start attempting to create a culinary success.
Yet don’t forget that even when the creation is delicious if it is not presented nicely then some of its qualities are automatically lost to the senses. We initially eat with our eyes, so create a work of art on the plates. This comes more naturally to some than to others but again with practice the presentation will improve.
Finally ensure that the table is also as beautiful as possible. This does not have to cost a lot of money. In the same way as creating from quality local ingredients the table setting for your culinary concepts can be simple, but stylish, with a feeling of balance.

Olivia Wilde teases ‘House’ return
Wilde told Entertainment Weekly: “I have to say, this episode is probably my favourite that I’ve ever done on the show. It explores her return, but it kind of takes the scenic route.”
The instalment, titled ‘The Dig’, will see House (Hugh Laurie) pick up Wilde’s character Thirteen from jail and take her on a road trip, determined to uncover the secret of her incarceration.
“In order to sort of melt her steely resolve, he has to show a little bit of his own vulnerability,” she explained. “I think that’s what makes their interaction ultimately really kind of unusual and really interesting. He’s reaching out to her and showing her his rawness.”
Wilde promised that viewers will eventually discover Thirteen’s secret, after some misdirection.
“It… comes after several attempts [by Thirteen] to throw [House] off the course,” she said. “She tries to throw him off the scent, but it doesn’t work because he’s too smart. She eventually has to give it up.”
House‘s executive producer David Shore previously claimed that Wilde’s return to the show will be “cool[3]“, while Amber Tamblyn[4] has confirmed that Thirteen will cross paths with her departing character Martha Masters.
House will return to Fox on April 11.

Friends And Fans Convene At Loden Dager’s New L.A. Digs
Designer update
March 21, 2011 3:51 pm
Loden Dager’s Paul Marlow and Alex Galan were in L.A. for the city’s fledgling fashion week this Saturday, but it wasn’t to stage a full-scale show or meet the press. “It’s about friends,” Galan said at the New York-based brand’s new West Coast showroom, in the front room of a Sunset Boulevard printing studio. And friends, in this case, meant the Like’s Tennessee Thomas, Glee costume designer Lou Eyrich, and David Arquette (left, with Marlow). “What we’re doing here is not open to the public,” Galan continued. In other words, this isn’t Loden Dager’s first retail store. Rather, the showroom will hopefully help to expand the presence of the brand at West Coast stores, though it will host rotating art exhibitions in the coming months. (Art books will also be wholesaled there; Galan daylights at D.A.P., Distributed Art Publishers.)
But “about friends” might be the subtitle to the Loden Dager story. The brand has grown largely through word of mouth as industry insiders and in-the-know types let pals and acquaintances in on the secret. That secret is one that’s been spreading faster these past few seasons—last year, LD was a finalist for the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund. “That was the most fun experience you can have in fashion—the feeling of camaraderie you get to feel getting to know all of these amazing designers,” Galan said.
That award came with a trip to L.A., one that gelled nicely with the Loden Dager aesthetic. (”L.A. is much more casual [than New York],” said Marlow, who designs the line with Oliver Helden, “and a big portion of our line is dressy casual.”) It also gave the designers a chance to make some new friends—including those in high places. “I just fell in love with the Sunset Tower the last time I was here,” Galan said. “The maître d’, Dimitri, I’m obsessed with him. He was like, ‘You and your friends are cool.’ That idea that you’ll have all of these very rich, I’m sure Russian mafia people waiting for a table, and he’ll be like, ‘I got you a table’—it’s amazing. I love the way that culture works here. New York is a bit tougher about that kind of thing.”

A Romantic New Boutique Hotel in Paris: Hotel Athénée
A wind of lyricism blowing on Paris lifts the curtain upon Jacques Garcia’s newest creation: the Hotel Athénée, a charming and exceptional boutique-hotel reminiscent of the 19th century Italian romance.
Based on four of the most renowned lyric tragedies of the opera, the hotel offers both the curious as well as the connoisseurs an occasion to be submerged by an exceptional décor in which the presence of the biggest divas and tenors is almost tangible. From La Traviata to Aida, Faust and Don Giovanni, the Hotel Athénée retraces the heroes’ adventures through a journey of the senses. Carte blanche given to the decorator, at once composer and conductor, whose poetic setting beats to the rhythm of the hearts of Violetta, Aida, Marguerite and Donna Anna.

From secret nooks to intimate rooms, Jacques Garcia’s palette is crimson, deep and poetic. Right down the street from the boulevard Haussmann and a birdsong away from the Palais Garnier, the hotel faces the legendary concert hall, l’Olympia. Similar to a gateway between immortal and living legends, one wouldn’t be surprised to find Maria Callas, drink in hand, chatting at the bar with Charlotte Gainsbourg. Adorned with authentic autographed photos of the most famous opera singers, the Red Bar offers a precious and captivating retrospective to both opera admirers and newbies.

When the interlude rings, glass chimes and smoke curls will take over in the cozy smoking room, softened by lounge music saving all the mystery and magic of opera music for the stage. Walls dressed in Pierre Frey fabrics, custom made furniture covered velvet and taffeta, bathrooms glistening with beautiful glass mosaics, raise the twenty rooms of the hotel to a delightful balance of tradition and modernity. The rich materials and lush fabrics are in perfect sync with the ultra modern comfort of a luxury hotel. Treated like a true leading role, each room plays its own part, from the charming balconies on the first floor to the breathtaking views on the Parisian rooftops. Guests will truly be received as divas.

An Alternative to Kopi Luwak
Kopi Luwak is highly regarded as the gourmet coffee delight of Vietnam and Southeast Asia . Kopi Luwak is also known as civet coffee because it is made from beans that have passed through the digestive tract of the civet-a cat-like or weasel-like animal that munches on coffee berries but cannot digest the bean at the berry’s core. Kopi Luwak beans have their unique, “secret” flavors released by the process of passing through the stomach and digestive tract of the civet and being exposed to its digestive enzymes. There is no amount or technique of roasting that can bring out the subtly nuanced flavors of the beans better than the civet’s enzymes, meaning that without this animal this great gourmet coffee delight simply could not exist. Civet farms, where the animals are treated as beloved pets, as well as wild civet preservations in the mountains of Southeast Asia have been created in order to produce as many enzymatically-treated beans for Kopi Luwak as there possibly can be .
However, since Kopi Luwak is rare and exotic among gourmet coffees, it is costly. Many coffee lovers feel that they can’t afford it, at least not much of it. So to that end Vietnam’s most famous coffee house and coffee producer, Trung Nguyen, has developed with the help of german scientists a brand of gourmet coffee called Legendee. Legendee is one of the world’s most famous gourmet coffees, as it is a unique, enzymatically-treated coffee just as Kopi Luwak is, the difference of course being that Legendee is artificially treated with enzymes whereas the civet is needed to make Kopi Luwak. Legendee is considered to be the closest artificially-treated coffee in flavor to Kopi Luwak. Arabica and Excelsa beans are blended together to create this one of a kind formula.
Recenty Trung Nguyen has developed its Legendee Gold to have a brighter flavor and more of the traditionally Arabica aroma and acidity that many coffee drinkers love. The packaging features a mountain symbol to stand for the high-altitude range where Legendee is produced and which gives it its unique and exotic flavor. Gourmet coffee drinkers who visit Vietnam cannot have a complete, fulfilling trip unless they sit in a Trung Nguyen coffeehouse and taste of the Legendee as it gets brewed in the the single-cup metallic Phin filters. And Legendee has rapidly become the gourmet favorite
So if you love gourmet coffee and you want to experience the extraordinary taste and feel of Kopi Luwak but you aren’t sure you have the money for it, try out Legendee , which you can find to order online.
